Serendipity

I am thinking about Serendipity and it's place in my life.  Someone said that there is no such thing as coincidence. 


I know that goal setting is supposed to be an important part of success yet I am quite lax in this regard.  I rarely make lists and the lists that I do make often sit in files or get lost in the clutter as I ignore my own advice.  Isn't that what a list is: A collection of bits of advice put into one place? Clean desk, sweep floor, buy toothpicks, get a role in a show?


It's the last one that has me thinking.  I never wrote this down.  I didn't go looking for a role in a Gilbert and Sullivan show.  I didn't even know "HMS Pinafore" before last October.  Now I'm having a fantastic time playing "Raif Rackstraw". My life has been changed by something that I never even sought out.  It's changed because of all the little gestalts and epiphanies that I am having over the course of the show.  I am "realizing" myself and it is a great adventure.  But it was Serendipity that brought me here.  


So not a coincidence? Is it a blessing visited upon me? Yes, a blessing but from where? Or what?  See, now I'm into the metaphysical.  Thoughts that come and go.  


Maybe I'll go now and make a list.  I hope that it doesn't prevent Serendipity but it might help whatever force or phenomenon that is at work here and that insists on making my life better and better.
